Net Nanny®’s CEO Gordon Ross received the first annual Internet Humanitarian Award from Cyberangels Internet Safety Organization, which is a division of the Guardian Angels. Mr. Ross was recognized for his selfless contribution, through special sponsorships and speaking engagements, to further public understanding of the important issues surrounding child safety and data security online.

Editors’ Special Recognition Award

Gordon Ross and Net Nanny® received this prestigious award for Telecommunications Excellence, in the Outstanding Special Purpose Award category.  The awards were established six years ago by famed computer columnist and PC Telecommunications expert, John C. Dvorak, to recognize the people, organizations, companies, products, and services that have contributed to the growth and advancement of telecommunications, online conferencing and the Internet. 

NCA Seal of Approval and Endorsement

addition, the National Computer Association (NCA), a national organization comprised of over 1,000 computer industry companies including wholesalers, computer and software retailers, value added resellers catering to corporate and education markets and computer service depots, has awarded Net Nanny® Software its seal of approval and endorsement.  After reviewing available technical solutions to combat questionable material on the Internet, Net Nanny® emerged as the software solution that met the NCA’s standards both in terms of child protection and complete user-defined content screening.

In April 1998, Net Nanny® was chosen by the congressional founders to be a member of the Advisory Committee of the U.S. Congressional Internet Caucus (www.netcaucus.org). Close to 400 House and Senate members benefit from the advisory board’s expertise as they consider Internet legislation.
